Walmart offers free classified ads

Published June 3rd, 2008

Wal-Mart Stores Inc’s website is now offering a free classified ad service.

Walmart.com launched the service in late May, and it is currently in beta — or test — mode. Shoppers can post or browse ads for items like cars, real estate, pets and jobs.

“Our new classifieds beta at Walmart.com provides an expanded offering of products and services, the majority of which are not traditionally available from Wal-Mart,” Walmart.com spokesman Ravi Jariwala said.
