ClassifiedsForFree.com, the Oldest Online Free Classified Site, Introduces Videos in Free Classifieds

Pubished July 3rd, 2009

In 1997, Dr. Deepak Dutta launched his free classified site ClassifiedsForFree.com. Since then, it has become one of the most popular online free classified sites. Today, ClassifiedsForFree.com introduces videos in all free classified ads posted at the site.

“In the last few years since the rise of YouTube’s popularity, people are increasingly using short video clips to generate a variety of contents, including classified ads. Visitors to our site wanted to use videos in their ads and we have worked hard to fulfill their need,” said Dr. Dutta.

“Today, almost all cell phones have video recording capability. Short video clips describing a product for sale can be recorded and uploaded in minutes in popular video sharing sites, like YouTube,” he said. “These videos can then be easily embedded in a classified ad by entering the URL of the YouTube video page.”

After doing a competitive analysis of similar free classified sites, Deepak has found that all popular free classified sites have limited features in their free ads, including video embedding capability. He has also found that all free classified sites have premium features for a fee. “Since, ClassifiedsForFree.com does not have any fee-based ads and all ads have equal priority in their visibility, we introduced video capability in all ads,” said Dr. Dutta.

Visitors to ClassifiedsForFree.com site can post ads with videos in more than 60 countries, in all 50 US states and in 600 plus US cities. Unlike other free classified sites, ClassifiedsForFree.com does not force users to sign up for posting their ads. Visitors can post their ads with videos and pictures without signing up for an account.

If they want to edit their ads and renew them before the ads expire, they need to sign up using an email and password only. It is very simple. “We don’t collect unnecessary information and ask registered users to confirm their emails during the sign up process,” said Dr. Dutta.

Another benefit of having an account at ClassifiedsForFree.com is the image management. Registered users can maintain up to 100 images in their private image gallery and include images from the gallery in their ads whenever they want to post an ad. “They don’t have to upload images while posting an ad,” said Deepak.

Unregistered users can upload and include up to three images in each ad. “The interface for posting ads at ClassifiedsForFree.com is the simplest one we have found so far,” said Dr. Dutta. “If you want to post a classified ad for free in a popular online classified site and you want the process to be hassle free and quick, ClassifiedsForFree.com is the place for you.”

ZeepMedia.com Expands SMS Ad Network Reach to 4 Million Messages A Month

Pubished June 24th, 2009

Zeep Media has increased the number of SMS messages available to advertisers and marketers to 4 million per month, opening the door to a huge mobile audience and becoming North America’s largest self-serve SMS advertising network.

http://zeepmedia.com/

Zeep Media is a mobile technology company specializing in SMS advertising that was founded in 2008 with a mission to empower advertisers and mobile content producers. Advertisers place effective, highly-targeted SMS ads while SMS content publishers run those ads on their content for a share of the ad revenue.

Zeep Media already has a roster of advertisers who are poised to take advantage of the increase in volume, but is looking to expand it’s list of advertising clients to take advantage the vast amount of SMS messages.

Simple, Easy to Create SMS Ads
Zeep Media’s ad builder makes it easy to create an SMS ad. Advertisers can create an account and place an ad within minutes. There are no complicated contracts or agreements. Daily reports help advertisers make decisions and track progress.

Create an SMS ad:

Response-oriented Advertising
Zeep Media helps advertisers manage their budgets and meet their goals by charging only when people respond to ads. Zeep Media’s SMS ad formats allow users to respond by either replying to an ad via SMS and receiving a new message with additional content, or by clicking a link in the SMS ad to visit a website via web-enabled mobile devices.

Zeep Media’s SMS ad formats:

Ads Placed Only in Content Users Want
Zeep Media has taken steps to improve the SMS advertising experience by only placing ads in messages that contain valuable content that subscribers have signed up to receive. Ads are never unsolicited or intrusive, they’re always bundled with high-quality content.

Fair, Market-driven Pricing
Advertisers get cost-effective results because Zeep Media places SMS ads according to a performance-based auction. Advertisers set their own bids and compete with each other to have their ads placed. Ads that perform better have an edge in the auction. Zeep Media’s auction algorithms ensure that advertisers always pay the minimum necessary for responses.

Pinpoint Geo-Targeting
Zeep Media’s location-based targeting allows small and local businesses to take advantage of mobile marketing by choosing specific States and Area Codes in which they want to run their ads. Even small businesses like restaurants can create effective SMS promotions to bring customers through the door.

About Zeep Media
Zeep Mobile, based in California, was founded in 2008 by three geeks who are passionate about mobile technologies that want to empower publishers and advertisers alike. Unable to find a good advertising solution for their own mobile projects, they created one for everybody.

Main Street Fair Classified Ads and Auction Site

Pubished June 21st, 2009

To provide supplemental funding to schools, Main Street Fair, the online classified ads and auction website that is branding itself as the easiest to use e-commerce site, is now open for business.

“We believe Main Street Fair is the easiest classified ads and auction website to use online,” said Lisa Porter, Main Street Fair CEO/president. “Even opening a storefront doesn’t require additional training.”
Main Street Fair categories range from free stuff to cars to used electronics. Houses, travel vacation packages, concert tickets and much more are but a sampling of what visitors can list and find on Main Street Fair.

“When teachers, school administrators and parents see the earning potential Main Street Fair has to bring in money to their schools, we think they will become our biggest advocates,” said Porter.

Main Street Fair, with its no or low-cost classified ads and online auctions, contributes a percentage of its income to schools sellers choose across America. The site was developed as a way to help fund schools, yet equally serve as a platform for people who want to make money by using the site as a retail outlet or to sell unwanted items. It resulted from a single mother of an 11-year-old, who became frustrated with dismal education funding, and arts and other enrichment programs being slashed.

“People don’t have enough money to contribute to keep many of our school programs going, so we hope to do it for them,” said Porter. “All people need to do now is list their items so schools can start receiving money donations from Main Street Fair.”

Main Street Fair also supports upper education by offering free classified listings for textbooks.

“It’s tough enough for college students to keep up with the rising cost of education,” said Porter. “At Main Street Fair, students can list their textbooks for free so they don’t have to pay mark-up fees.”

“Main Street Fair is a site that offers a deal for everyone: It donates funds to schools, sellers make money by getting rid of things they don’t want or product they have in stock, and buyers find great deals. Making money online while supporting education doesn’t get any easier than that!”

Main Street Fair also expects to draw a large number of storefronts, charging an introductory offer of only $15 per month with unlimited listings. The storefronts offer owners a variety of templates to choose from, logo upload capabilities, a unique online address, the ability to send out customized newsletters and much more.

“People can virtually have their own online auction and classified ads site without the cost or liability of ownership,” said Porter

Companies can also promote themselves using Main Street Fair’s banner ad program. The ads may be linked to their websites. This could increase their website’s traffic significantly. Furthermore, advertisers will have access to a detailed statistical report to monitor banner and text ads using real-time information. This comprehensive report includes the number of clicks and click through rate (CTR) and number of impressions to keep ads performing at their maximum potential.

As customers benefit, so will education. The more people that use Main Street Fair to buy and sell, whether as classified ads or auctions, the more money the schools will earn.

“Main Street Fair is starting on the ground floor, but expects to quickly generate significant ongoing revenue for schools,” said Porter. “It’s a winner’s circle for buyers, sellers, schools and students.”

The company is headquartered in Rancho Santa Margarita. For more information on Main Street Fair, please call (877) 797-1998 or log on to www.mainstreetfair.com.

Internet Advertising Revenues at $5.5 Billion in Q1 09

Pubished June 7th, 2009

In a recessionary environment that has hit other media sectors with greater force, Internet advertising revenues in the U.S. were at $5.5 billion for the first quarter of 2009, according to the numbers released today by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC). The figure represents a 5% decline over the same period in 2008.

“Interactive advertising has taken its rightful place as a fixture on marketing plans across sectors, which means we aren’t immune to broader economic trends,” said Randall Rothenberg, President and CEO of the IAB. “Nevertheless, consumers are spending more and more time with interactive media. For this, and other reasons, interactive media continues to gain share of marketing spend. We’re confident that growth will resume as the U.S. economic climate improves. Interactive advertising is the most accountable way to reach consumers—and in this economy, digital media will be a core component of any successful marketing campaign.”

David Silverman, PwC Assurance partner, echoed the observation that interactive advertising has been less affected by economic conditions than other media. “Current economic conditions are clearly challenging,” Silverman said. “Nonetheless, interactive media continues to consume a larger piece of the overall advertising pie.”

Conducted by the New Media Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, the Internet Advertising Revenue Report was launched in 1996 by the IAB, and aggregates data from all companies that report meaningful online advertising revenues. The results are considered the most accurate measurement of interactive advertising revenues with the data compiled directly from information supplied by companies selling advertising on the Internet. The survey includes data concerning online advertising revenues from Web sites, commercial online services, ad networks, free e-mail providers, and all other companies selling online advertising. First and third quarter revenue reports are estimates, with the actual figures being released along with second and fourth quarter data respectively. PwC does not audit the information and provides no opinion or other form of assurance with respect to the information.

About PricewaterhouseCoopers:

PricewaterhouseCoopers (www.pwc.com) provides industry-focused assurance, tax and advisory services to build public trust and enhance value for its clients and their stakeholders. More than 154,000 people in 153 countries across our network share their thinking, experience and solutions to develop fresh perspectives and practical advice.

About the IAB:

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) is comprised of more than 375 leading media and technology companies who are responsible for selling 86% of online advertising in the United States. On behalf of its members, the IAB is dedicated to the growth of the interactive advertising marketplace, of interactive’s share of total marketing spend, and of its members’ share of total marketing spend. The IAB educates marketers, agencies, media companies and the wider business community about the value of interactive advertising. Working with its member companies, the IAB evaluates and recommends standards and practices and fields critical research on interactive advertising. Founded in 1996, the IAB is headquartered in New York City with a Public Policy office in Washington, D.C. For more information, please visit www.iab.net.
